2nd Annual Rooster Party

Hey everyone, I am participating in the 2nd annual Rooster Party hosted by Barb at Bella Vista. I only have one beautiful rooster, but I still wanted to join in on the fun! My rooster sits on a high shelf above our entertainment unit in our den. As you can see, I have lots of other collectibles on my shelves too. I'll have to post about those later. The collection on the lower shelf is all Noah's Ark stuff.
Isn't he a fine specimen? He keeps watch over the activities in our den. I was lucky enough to find him at Big Lots many years ago.
This is another view. He looks like an expensive rooster, but was very inexpensive. I have always loved him. He reminds me of the rooster that my Grandmother had at her house in the mountains when I was a child.
And yes, I do know the difference between a chicken and a rooster, but this little gal was feeling left out. You see, she lost her husband last year and he was a fine specimen too. My hubby accidentally knocked him off of our kitchen counter and he was beyond repair. Maybe someday I will find another one just like him.

Check out the Rooster Party at Barb's blog. There are some beautiful pictures!

  3. I think there must be roosters in the air or something - seems like I'm drawn to them now, especially when we go to Cracker Barrel after church. Must be something about their regal bearing - LOL!

Very sad for your little gal - hope she finds somebody soon. ;)

  6. This brought back memories - we had a rooster statue in the family that mysteriously made it's way around to everyone's house in the oddest of places. lol

I wanted to tell you I'm so glad you're following in the DIY Club now! I hope you participate in the monthly party! Thanks for taking the time to comment too - I'm a little nervous but very excited so your comment made me feel reassured. :)

    Have a great weekend!

  10. Hi there, There is just something about roosters, I love them but don't have any. I started collecting crocks instead. I found one at a timeshare I loved and wanted to ask the front desk if it was for sale or not but never did. Have fun at your street fair-we went to a concert last night and I love to watch dogs-in fact if I'm not sure what they are I'll go up and ask. Have a joyfilled weekend.
    Hugs & love,
    Noreen

  21. Long ago when we bought our first house I had roosters everywhere. When we moved two times I got tired of them and got rid of most. Makes me wanna cry now.

Oh, beach and mountains, mountains and beach. The reason I love the Carolinas!
