In the winter I love to wear my Dansko's. I have a black and a brown pair. Well guess what? Today I decided to add a little excitement to the day and I ended up wearing one of each!!! Didn't I just mention in a past post how busy I have been lately? I know I have totally lost it now!!!
I had to be at work today at 7am, so I was up and out of the house really early. I had my shoes in the hallway and just ran by and slipped them on in the dark and took off out the front door.
I got to work (remember, I am a Nanny) and proceeded to do my usual morning routine at their house. The Mom was there, but was busy doing her thing trying to get the oldest child out the door. We talked, but she or the children never noticed my shoes.
I took the youngest child to pre-school and WALKED in the building! No one noticed my shoes or if they did, they were polite and didn't say anything.
I then went to the dry cleaners and it is one that you walk in to (not a drive-through). Again, no one mentioned my shoes.
From there I went to the grocery store and was there for about an hour. Still no comment from anyone about my shoes. I had not noticed them either! LOL!!!
After grocery shopping, it was time for my morning Bible study group. It was while we were discussing our book, Crazy Love by Francis Chan, that I looked down and noticed that I had on two colors of shoes. I pointed it out to everyone and we all had a good laugh!!! And believe it or not, every lady there admitted to having done that at least once in her life.
I am amazed at God's sense of humor and how He brought laughter and smiles to our Bible study group this morning through something as simple as my mismatched shoes!
Yes, I went to work at an elementary school once with two different shoes on!
ReplyDeleteI have done it too! Twice :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was working, the morning's were always so hectic getting the girls ready for school. I went all day once all around town with different colored shoes on! They were the same type of Clarks shoes just different colors too!
It's good to have you back!
Hugs,
Donna
I've done the same thing with shoes and with earrings!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kat
We are two peas in a pod. Last week I wore two different tennis shoes to the gym to work out! Let's just say I can relate and leave it at that!
ReplyDeleteFunny! I only have one pair of Dansko's. It's a good thing because I'm sure I would have done the same thing by now.
ReplyDeleteWhen I taught the Ladies Sunday School class,
ReplyDeleteI used to get up early and go over the lesson,
fix breakfast and get the kids up. I'd put my dress on, and put my old brown slip on shoes and change them just as I went out the door. One day I ended up standing in front of a class of women with a very nice dressy dress and brown round toed flats.
Nice to see ya back. Missed ya! Blessings to you, Donna
I once had my shirt on inside out and no one said a word! I guess anything can be a fashion statement these days. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI did that once too! :)
ReplyDeleteROFL!!!! That is totally funny! I use to have recurring dreams as a kid that I would go to school barefooted!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your shoes!! Both colors!! giggle...
xxoo
Becky
Too funny! We've all done the same thing!
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to see you back posting...I have really missed you. Now Mr.CC and I just got our laugh for the night...so thanks:) I don't remember doing this with shoes, but I have done this with earrings and it was at a end of year K5 program...got home and discovered what I had done.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Oh Yes, I've done it too...with a brown and black pair of dress shoes. Not as bad as my good friend though who just recently taught a P.E. class at a middle school with two DIFFERENT tennis shoes on! Thanks for the laugh this morning. Glad you are back!
ReplyDeleteToo funny! Never had that to happen though! But I'm not going say it won't ever!! I'm sometimes a wild woman in the mornings!! lol...

Oh I think if we're, ahem, a certain age, we can all relate. You must watch the video on my facebook page...you will love it-it's about this very thing.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
LOL! I have worn two different earrings by accident before and my husband has worn a navy and a black sock....
ReplyDeleteNice to see you post! I miss your smiling face on my blog.
Hugs,
Penny
Melinda, I did that when I worked in a law office when I was younger! I had one brown shoe and one navy blue one on and no one noticed until the end of the day believe it or not!!
ReplyDeleteThis was hilarious. Oh I've done that and more! I once helped a midwife to the Amish. She phoned me in the wee-hours of the morning and I grabbed the clothes I laid out and dressed in the dark so as not to disturb my sleeping hubby. It wasn't until hours later when I was standing in the lantern-lit Amish kitchen, making toast for the new mom, that I realized I had my shirt on inside out and backwards.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Deb
I've done the same thing. Luckily mine was with one black shoe and one navy shoe, so it was less noticeable.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific Tuesday!
That's too funny! My sister has done that before too. I love my Dansko's and wear them a lot! I have a black patent leather pair and a cow hide pair that I wear the most. Love them!
ReplyDeleteOh yes ma'am I did that once! Worked in a lab and we mostly wore sneakers to work. With only about an hour left in the day one of the techs looked down, pointed at my shoes and got everybody laughing - I had on a Reebok and a Nike! My only defense was that they were both white and it was early when I got dressed.
ReplyDeleteLove the shoe story! Cute! I haven't done it yet but I've come close to walking out with my slippers on before. How do you like your Bible study? We're going to start Crazy Love with our small group in February.
ReplyDeleteI once went to the grocery store with my slippers on.... the fuzzy kind!
ReplyDeleteAs I told you on Facebook, I did the same thing and realized it when I was opening an account at the bank.
ReplyDeleteI've done it before too. Twice.
ReplyDeleteOnce was years ago when I was teaching kindergarten. We were about to say the Pledge of Allegiance and I happened to look down & noticed & got so tickled. The kids laughed all morning long. While they were in music class I ran home and switched.
Another time was just a few years ago and I was talking to the youth at church and I kept seeing my daughter & my husband smiling & getting tickled. I was getting a little paranoid because I don't like to get up in front of people & afterwards they told me I had on one black & one blue flip-flop.
Glad you all got a good laugh today too!
Ah, I enjoyed a good giggle this morning:) They do look very similar!! Hope all is going well in your neck of the mountains....love it when you have time to post!
ReplyDeleteHugs -
Jennifer
Oh bless your heart! :o)
ReplyDeleteI have done that too!
Just looked down and checked my own shoes!
ha ha ha!
love, Trish
Teehee I think that's happened to most people! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kindness to me today! Can't wait to tell the story of how small a world it is!
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed reading your blog. Me too, I actually packed two different white sandals for a weekend away once.
ReplyDeleteBoth my husband and I have done the same thing! It's so easy when one is rushing to get dressed on a dark winter morning. Once I even wore my husband's sneakers by mistake! s soon as started walking I wondered why my sneakers felt loose...lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a HOOT!!! I've never put on two different shoes but on several occasions I've walked out of the house with a blouse or sweater on backwards!!!
ReplyDeleteComing by to wish you a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Happy Valentine's Day, friend!!
