Remember when I posted about winning this adorable heart pillow from Becky at Sweet Cottage Dreams? In case you don't, let me refresh your memory....
You see, Becky was posting about a wonderful project that her friend Kim at
Dear Daisy Cottage was sponsoring for a man named Jack who lost his wife recently. Kim wanted blog readers to make a heart and send to her, which would be photographed and then sent to Jack to hopefully help ease his pain over losing his precious wife Tabatha.
Please take the time to go to Kim's blog, Dear Daisy Cottage, and see all the gorgeous hearts that were made to be sent to Jack. It will bring tears to your eyes. I never even knew about Jack and Tabatha until I read about them on Becky and Kim's blogs, but I immediately wanted to be a part of this project.
Below, you will see the heart that I made to send to Jack. You can also see the picture of my heart on Kim's blog too. I was just overwhelmed at all the talented people and the hearts that were made for Jack. Isn't that a neat thing that was done for Jack? I can't wait to hear his response when he receives all his hearts. Most of us included personal notes to Jack for him to read.
I am constantly amazed at the outpouring of love and friendship in this big "blog world"!!! I never dreamed when I started blogging a little over a year ago that I would meet (online) so many beautiful, caring people who I would grow to love and who would bring so much joy to my life each day. We have all shared ideas and thoughts with each other, cried and laughed together, shared recipes, learned things from each other, prayed for each other and just had fun with each other!!!
I am so thankful that we are here for each other and I hope that there will be more projects in the future to participate in like this one for Jack.
2nd Corinthians 1:3-7.... He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.....

Dear Melinda, I came over from Kim's after seeing the lovely Heart you made for Jack and Tabatha. And well, I am overwhelmed (again) seeing your wonderful post, not only to discover you are a sister in Christ, but also that we share the same feeling! :)
ReplyDeleteSo very nice to meet you, Melinda!
Valentina from Cyprus
What a beautiful outpouring of love! It's such an awesome thing.
ReplyDeleteYours is pretty. And I agree...who knew the love and friendship and support that blogging would add to our lives? I had absolutely no idea when I got started!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend!
Oh this is so touching, I am so moved by the thoughtfulness of such a kind and simple action. You are so wonderful to participate! Thank you for your sweet friendship, wishing you a fabulous weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful outpouring of support!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty heart. I looked up this blog and I am amazed at all the hearts. They are so wonderful. What a blessing to this man.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a blessing to so many including me!! Love ya.
Those pillows are so pretty and it is so great to hear of the encouragement that happens in the blog world. I recently read an article about women picking on eachother's blogs and, although I've had that a little bit, it's overwhelmingly supportive and encouraging. Leave it to media to pick up on the one negative thing...oh well.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all of your encouragement to me. I always love your comments. :)
Thank you for such a lovely post Miss Empty Nest, and for introducing me to the hearts project at Daisy Cottage (where I've been the last 10 minutes). The one you made is beautiful, they all are because they were made with love.
ReplyDeleteWhat a remarkable undertaking Kim created, proof positive there is good in the world. It may be difficult to see the kindness and the good sometimes, but at other times it flows everywhere, in abundance.
And I love that particular passage from Corinthians, thank you for posting it, and for your kind sentiments on our Anniversary, you are such a treasure. It is easy to see where your daughters' generosity of spirit was born.
Smiles at you, and hopes you enjoy a splendid weekend,
tp
The hearts that both you and Becky made are so beautiful. This is such a touching post. I'm at a loss for words to hear about Jack's loss. I pray that he find's comfort, peace and healing in the arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

I am so glad you found my blog! I am now a follower of yours :) I am so jealous you won the heart from Becky. She is a precious blogging friend of mine.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sweet comment you left me on my blog... it lifts my spirits! I miss my Amber so much and you know how it feels losing someone you care so much about. My daughter's wedding is keeping my mind busy and that's a good thing right now.
I can't wait to go back and read your blog entries ... maybe late tonight!
Thanks again.
Oh, my heart for Jack is the one at the very top that I embroidered Natasha's name.
Blessings,
Donna

ReplyDeleteHello my sweet friend...
ReplyDeleteWhat a day this has been!
A birthday party for our grandaughter...
lots of laughing!
Lots of conversation with my love today about his cancer and what might happen...
Lots of crying!
Finding I won the beautiful seascape from Melanie...
Because of you!
Then getting here and reading your post about Jack...
More crying!
But such a blessing...
I needed that scripture this evening...
God knew it, and you my friend were the vessel...
Never laid eyes on you in person...but I can truly say...
You are precious to me.
I will be praying for Jack...
and that the hearts are a comfort.
Have a wonderful Sunday tomorrow!

ReplyDeleteI don't know how I found your blog but I'm glad I did! You have an awesome blog and I hope to visit again (bookmarked and will follow). I'm a grammie too :) and a WAH empty nester after 20something years in high tech advertising and marketing. Loving the slower life but can't say it I have zero frenzy as I go with the flow of all my marketing clients. I hope you have a great weekend and stop by my blog to say hello :) Take care!

ReplyDeleteHi sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteMy time on the computer has been limited lately (and probably will be until after the wedding), but I've had fun catching up with you tonight.
Love the heart you made. Isn't Kim the sweetest thing evah?! I think so. So many people came through and I'm sure Jack is overwhelmed with all the love being shown in Tabetha's memory. I just wish I had to time to do one too...and the skill. LOL
Hugs!
